Frequently Asked Questions
Does my provincial health plan cover travel?
No. It will only cover a partial cost of unexpected, immediate emergencies that only arose while you were away. The plan will pay the equivalent of the cost of the same treatment in Canada, which is often significantly lower. It will not cover minor injuries, procedures that can be delayed and performed upon your return, or treatment for existing illnesses.
How much will it cost?
Travel insurance is very affordable. It varies based on the trip destination, age of travelers and trip cost.
Should I purchase insurance for travel within Canada?
Depends. Health plans vary from province to province and you may only be partially covered when traveling. Contact us for more information.
